Idea projektu

In today's world, we spend more and more time on work or careers. Often
we forget to find a moment during the day to calm down. Almost from every side we are exposed to stress. More and more people complain about problems with concentration or memory, and it's all caused by stress. We have a lot on our mind problems that we constantly think about. Preoccupied with the excess of responsibilities, we give up what is most important - health. It all does both our body and mind become exhausted.
A very good way to relax is yoga, which is body training combined with spiritual meditation. Yoga makes us manage stress, makes us feel better. Thanks to the systematic practice of yoga, we can improve ours concentration or memory, but also physical condition. Yoga has many benefits and allows to maintain balance in life.
People who come to the workshops can not only enjoy yoga classes, but also spend time in nature.
When deciding to design a yoga studio in the forest, it was mainly due to the lack of such a place in Szczecin. There are several places where you can practice yoga, but they are in the center of the city. When the windows open you can hear all the street noise what
it does not allow you to fully relax. It would be the first place where you can really calm down and nothing will disturb it.

Popis projektu

The plan includes a project of the Yoga Studio at Jezioro Szmaragdowe (Kopalniana street) in Szczecin. The building is surrounded by greenery in the area of the Szczecin Landscape Park “Puszcza Bukowa”, thanks to witch it allows visitors to calm down and establish a relationship with nature. The building, through its form, materials used in the façade and large amount of glazing, fits into the surroundings and does not interfere with the existing tall greenery. The object has a common space for relaxation on the ground floor, bedrooms for groups coming there for yoga workshops on the first and second floor, and an exercise room on the third floor. Symmetry has a big importance in yoga. The design maintains symmetry both inside the building and on the façade. The divisions on the façade are at equal intervals, which shows the well-balanced proportions of the building. Due to the chaotic parking nearby, it was decided to revitalize it, but to keep the existing greenery intact. The facility is also adapted to the needs of the disabled persons and developed in accordance with the current formal and ergonomic guidelines.

Technické informace

The concept of the body of the building has undergone many changes. An important issue was to glaz a large part of the external walls due to the landscape that can be viewed through the window. One of the greatest strengths of this project is its location. In order that visitors could still feel as if they were in the forest, a large amount of glazing was used in the building. Initially, all the floors were of one height, but during the design it was decided that the ground floor and the floor with the yoga room should be higher than the others to emphasize the importance of these rooms (common space and exercise room). Symmetry plays an important role in the entire project, which is why the building is divided from the outside into equal vertical parts. The staircase is located right in the middle of the outer wall, thanks to which we have the feeling that everything is symmetrical and harmony is preserved when entering the building from it.
