Idea projektu

AD ASTRA is an astrological observatory located in Tolar Grande, Argentina – the area is called Puna. The project program combines three areas: scientific, touristic and a boutique Hotel.
The location is ideal for star gazing and astronomical research due the height and scarce urban development, which means that there is no light pollution. The Puna Saltena is located 380 km from the city of Salta and 214 km from San Antonio de los Cobres, at an altitude of 3400 meters above sea level.
Currently two projects are being carried out in the area, which are closely related to each other: ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter Array) and LLAMA (Large Latin American Millimeter Array).
The main objective is to provide the user with an unique astronomical experience. To do this, we take the user out of his comfort zone. We invite you to live at night, discover the stars and that great universe of which we are part of. Therefore architecture accompanies and allows Stargazing at all times and places.

Popis projektu

The aim is to gaze the universe and the stars above us, so the space is organized around a large central square. A mirror of water that seeks to be the reflection of the stars in the land.
The sightseeing of the landscape is proponent. This is materialized in glazed ceilings, large windows and large terraces with telescopes for the tourist and amateur that allows to enjoy the best visuals, among others.

Technické informace

The main constructive technique is called TAPIAL which is rammed earth (gives a reddish color to the walls) for unstructured walls and reinforced concrete for submuration and ceiling beams
