Two thousand and eighty-four
The thesis is based on the central theme of the prison, which over time, and given the choice of reference literature, has crystallized into a question concerning control not only in public space. I was led to this shift by texts by the French sociologist Loïc Wacquant, whose work focuses on social inequalities. It is precisely these mechanisms that regulate and supervise our behaviour that make society all the more polarising and hold everyone back in their social conditions.

The outcome of the pre-diploma project, in addition to formulating the assignment of the following thesis, is a series of smaller projects and installations thematizing, mapping, materializing and making visible surveillance in public space and on the territory of the Faculty of Architecture.
The thesis will further address, through architectural design, the increasingly present and almost unquestioned surveillance and control not only in the urban environment.

Dva tisíce osmdesát čtyři
Práce vychází z ústředního tématu vězení, které postupem času, i vzhledem k výběru referenční literatury, vykrystalizovalo do otázky týkající se kontroly nejen ve veřejném prostoru. Na tuto přesmyčku mne navedly texty od francouzského sociologa Loïca Wacquanta, který se ve své práci zaměřuje na sociální nerovnosti. Právě tyto mechanismy upravující a dohlížející na naše chování společnost o to více polarizují a zadržují každého v jeho sociálních podmínkách.

Výstupem předdiplomního projektu je, vedle formulování zadání následující diplomové práce, série menších projektů a instalací tematizujích, mapujících, zhmotňujících a zviditelňujících dohled ve veřejném prostoru a na území Fakulty architektury.
Diplomová práce se bude dále skrze architektonický návrh zabývat stále více přítomným a téměř nikým nezpochybňovaným dohledem a kontrolou nejen v městském prostředí.
