Concert House in the Middle of the Roundabout

Project of new concert house is situated in one of the most busy and complicated trasporatation nod in Milan - Piazzale Loreto in the middle of the roundabout. in the underground there is an important existing metro station - Loreto, which is the strongest feature of that place and also the reason for situating this building in the middle of the roundabout. Another important aspect is, that famous shopping street Corso Buenos Aires ends in that exact place.

Popis projektu

The form of the building is simple cubic solitaire in the middle of the roundabout. Thanks to that position and distances, it can afford to be a high rise single object. The building is placed inside an "atrium" in the middle of the existing metro station, that brings a lot of light there. Elevations of the concert house are opaque, but on the underground level there is on a contrary a new enviroment with transparent commercials and entrance to the concert house through glass box that serves also as a bar. The pavement serves here as a tool to combine existing grid of metro station and the new one.

Technické informace

In the upper floors there are 3 auditoriums, one is placed upon each other. One is for 300 people, another one, designed for rock concerts, for 500 people and the biggest one for 1500 people. In corridors around there can be exhibitions during day when there are no concerts.
