Idea projektu

The meditation centre is a tribute to the human spirit- which flows freely through the realm of nature. The two are inextricably connected- where one is incomplete without the other. Nature has been the crucible and the constraint for the design- moulding it in every step of the way.

The meditation centre is nestled in the hills of Sikkim and breaks free from geometry, thereby enkindling it's visitors breakaway from the shackles of rigidity, onto a path of self discovery and realization. The rhyme of the architecture is based on the unending dialogue between man and nature.

Popis projektu

The design closely follows the topography of the hill, and is organic in both plan and elevation. The inner sanctum is demarcated using massive glass panels, which provide a continuous vista of the outer world. The structure has two core denominators which act as green zones that support the growth of flora and reiterate the themes of nature. The edifice has a stepped roof with several punctures to allow for diffused light into the interior spaces, which carve fascinating shadows in the interior spaces. The entire layout is made more spacious and breathable using slanted walls. Even the landscape acts as a noise cancellation buffer, to uplift the visitor towards a transcendental journey.

Technické informace
