Idea projektu

In the past, Korea was operated by family-centered society. Individuals became members of a family and the society consisted of families. Now, it is changing rapidly. We focus on individual than family. All the young want to express their personality not only in their daily life but also in their lifestyle. So, I'd like to propose urban planning reflecting change of Korea society.

Popis projektu

Existing site is located center of Seoul which is the capital of Korea. In the past, it was famous for shoes industry, but now, it is just occupied by small retail shop and poor residents. Recently, several groups of young people moved into this region, it has become one of the famous attractions in Seoul. So, I'd like to propose residences living with the young, artist and local residents.

Main idea of this project is drawing a vibrant local street into the residence area. It plays a role in interface between city and individual. At first, I divide the area by 4 blocks which have path for pedestrians. I locate the residence buildings outside of them and communal space including workroom, urban farm, etc. inside of them. The first one has typical type and it makes a unity of each block. The second one is a factor of change. It is located in the middle of path inside of block. It has different in shape and utilization. So, people will have an interest during a way to their home from the city.
