The rapid development of tourism and global competition, as well as technological advancements, require the readiness of Semarang City to respond to developments from various aspects, one of which is the development in the MICE industry. Semarang City as the Capital of Central Java Province has the vision to develop Semarang city towards MICE city (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) following Riptek Vol. 5, No.II 2011. The existence of the main infrastructure for meeting activities, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions that are good and right will greatly support the increase in the visit of MICE activity participants in the city of Semarang. But for now, the city of Semarang does not yet have a MICE Activity Center building that can accommodate all MICE activities in one place, this can be seen from the availability of MICE infrastructure in Semarang. Although there are special meeting facilities, the capacity of these facilities is still relatively small.
From the background of the problem, we need a solution that can be a solution for the provision and development of facilities that can support the smooth operation of MICE, one of which is planning and creating a Semarang Convention and Exhibition Center design that are friendly to people and the environment, futuristic and modern with the Eco-Tech concept.

Semarang Convention and Exhibition Building design is located at Semarang PRPP area. The Semarang government has begun to advocate the PRPP area to be developed into a MICE activity center, and also in accordance with PRPP's vision of product promotion, cultural promotion, trade shows, recreation and cultural tourism, as well as international scale property management. The architectural form is inspired by Semarang city nickname "Venetie van Java" where in the city of Semarang there are many rivers and used as a center of trade access at that time. Semarang Convention and Exhibition Building design uses the concept of Eco-tech. There are 3 aspects of eco-tech that are the main focus in this design, namely Structural Expression & Energy Matters, Sculpting with Light, and Making Connections. The application of the concept to the design is by highlighting the structure and materials, sustainable systems as well as the use of technology, skylights integrated with photovoltaic systems and an inner court. land use by maximizing the management of green space in landscape design and the use of semi-basement. The design is made more attractive and iconic while still maximizing the function of space.
