Idea projektu

Moeis museum from the <<ανεμόεις>> in ancient Greek which means wind-beaten. Our building is located in Patras, Rio/Greece near the sea Fortress of Rio. A very special building with low height (7m). Inspired of the axis of the fortress and the way that the wind blows in the area we created an organic form that spreads in the whole site in order to house the museum and to create an interactive connection between our building and our outdoor gardens. The form goes up and down and branches out in three basic units.

The main approach to our building is from the eastern dock where a bus station is located. In the middle we have our main entrance for the visitors which includes the gift shop too. On the right side from the entrance we have the cafe and the restaurant area. Following the semi-basement corridor from the left on our right hand we have the workshop area and the auditorium. On our left hand we have the exhibitions space. People who work at this museum the use a different entrance from the back to access the building and the working spaces such as administrative offices, laboratory and the storage room. Our floor goes up and down like our planted roof does, beginning from ground level and above to achive low height and to avoid unusable spaces. The garden are formed like there is a free but also organised planted trees and bushes based on the mediterranean planting and the views we wanted to show or hide.

Technické informace

At first we have a collage from the wider area with the map that depicts it. Then we have the diagrams which describe our concept, the form and the relationship between our building and the area. Next there is an order of our plans and sections. Finally we present some views more diagramatics and some more specific from our 3d model.
