Idea projektu

The design task was to create a sustainable architecture integrated with the urban space and responding to the criteria of the urban plan MAD-RE, Saint-Gobain MULTI COMFORT at the same time. The overall goal was a constructive approach to renovating existing facilities and actively integrating the local community into social integration.

Popis projektu

The main idea was to add to the buildings an independent wooden structure with residential cubes on one side and growing green gardens on the other side. Wooden cubes allow to freely increase the apartments from inside and create a dynamic and residents-friendly elevation from the outside. The volumes provided allow to maintain a constant temperature in summer and winter. The applied urban farming has a positive effect on the microclimate of the existing courtyard and allowed grown vegetables and fruits.

Technické informace

Apartments are in a linear configuration which allow natural ventilation. The introduced changes make the buildings obtain the highest energy class and meet the criteria of multichoice. Social and economic aspects have also become an important element. Both buildings were covered and the existing ground floor has been transformed into service spaces supporting the local economy. In addition, new hiking paths have been introduced, which consequently enhance the integration of residents. The car park has been minimized and the local park is connected with the buildings in a natural way.
