Urban and architectural concept of a residential and service area and the structure of ​​the Schindler's ark survivors museum.

Idea projektu

The subject of the work is the architectural and urban planning concept for the site of the former Löw-Beer textile factory, which also served as a subcamp managed by Oskar Schindler. The topic is the competition proposal for the "Schindler's Ark saving competition," which envisions the creation of a museum for Schindler's survivors and a business and educational center for the community in the northern part of the site. The southern part of the site is planned to include residential and commercial buildings. The historical character and the development of new services are expected to ensure the region's growth.
Design goals are based on various levels: economic, social, environmental and spatial. Each of these aspects plays a huge role in the design of usable spaces (external and internal). The main idea is to connect these spheres in such a way that the solutions apply to all of them.
Economic goal: Solve zones I and II in such a way that they generate low maintenance costs and ensure low prices for renting or purchasing commercial premises.
Social goal: neighbourhood integration and encouraging people to live in the newly designed area.
Environmental goal: as little integration into existing nature as possible, striving to improve the climate and reduce emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere.
Spatial goal: connection of zones I and II, development of the Brněnec commune.

Popis projektu

Design solutions are guided by the goals set in the previous point. The main idea that combines economic, environmental and social goals is using circular economy solutions. New buildings should be built sustainably. Such assumptions include: construction of materials ensuring good thermal insulation of buildings, use of materials from the secondary market, creation of comfortable but small apartments, provision of many common spaces, all the most necessary services and accompanying greenery, including blue-green infrastructure, and the use of energy-saving solutions.

Technické informace

Changes to construction equipment are planned within the designed area. The area does not have any utilities that must be provided for residents and service purposes. It is planned to modernize existing facilities with museum, catering, tourist and recreational accommodation, office and conference functions, belonging to categories IX, XIV, XVI and XVII. In zone II (southern), multi-family buildings belonging to category XIII are planned. It is planned to modernize existing buildings with a service function and a clinic, which fall into categories XI and XVII. The designed residential buildings were named in the drawing documentation as follows: building A, B, C, D, E and F.
Two access roads to the designed buildings have been planned as pedestrian and driving routes with a minimum width of 5 meters and an access road to Villa Löw-Beer
An irregular system of pedestrian paths is planned in the area.
It is planned to build 48 parking spaces in zone I:
- 5 places for people with disabilities
- 3 places for electric cars with public vehicle charging stations
- 4 seats for coaches
- 36 parking spaces for passenger cars
It is planned to build 171 parking spaces in zone II:
- 30 places for people with disabilities
- 5 places for electric cars with public vehicle charging stations
- 136 parking spaces for passenger cars.
The designed residential and service buildings are adapted for people with disabilities. Apartments adapted in dimensions for people with disabilities are planned on the first floor of residential buildings. There are elevators in two residential buildings.
