Idea projektu

The main idea of the project was to create a Psychological Rehabilitation Centre in Lviv, which would allow direct contact with the surrounding nature. The Rehabilitation Centre aims to help people affected by the trauma of the ongoing war in Ukraine. The project is designed for war veterans, but also for civilians who have suffered both physical and psychological injuries. Due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, its landscape is marked by numerous remnants of destroyed and bombed buildings. The sight of the ruins of what were once houses, schools and other public buildings has become a sad symbol of the current situation. In response to these tragic circumstances, we decided to give new meaning to these fragments of the past by integrating them into our architectural design. The façade of our new building was created using materials from these ruined structures, particularly reinforced concrete. The inspiration for this facade façade was an interest in circular architecture and nature. The façade refers to the shape of the branches of a 'November' tree.

The building is located in the northern part of Lviv, on previously flooded areas that have been converted into an area for construction. A conceptual design for a modular housing estate was created in this area proposed by students of the Warsaw University of Technology, in the surroundings of which we have placed the Psychological Rehabilitation Centre designed by us.

Technické informace

The building is divided into three interconnected zones: the entrance area, which offers a variety of services, a sports area and a rehabilitation/residential area that provides access to the usable roof above the entrance area. entrance area. An internal courtyard was also used to provide communication between the zones, providing light to the rooms and provide space for recreation. For the interior design, the following materials were used wooden materials have been used to make the building's interior as warm as possible.
The structure of the building is based on reinforced concrete columns and load-bearing walls, which support the reinforced concrete ceilings. Each zone has been de-coupled and has a corresponding number of storeys - 2, 3 and 3 respectively.
Large glazings are covered by a facade that provides users with protection from the the sun. The façade, made up of repetitive modules, is overgrown with greenery providing even closer contact with nature.
