CONCEPT : SURVIVING WITH ADVERSITY .The Coastal community of Bangladesh has natural resiliency against various impacts of the climate However due to the effect of the disaster our aila , sidor and Amphan, which destroyed all the homesteads of the village of Gabura union, their vulnerability against the natural impacts increased. The key problems of this area are cyclone , salinity, waterlogging , river erosion, lack of economic independency and future threat of sea level teasing and cyclone. the river around the village has also made the village land mass more erodible. surveyed the area
thinking about the overall condition of the area. And after getting to know about the vacations
of the local people, I felt myself thinking in their place and wanting to do a good job with them. As a result of which I thought my thoughts on different levels. Since there are different types of problems here, I have tried to solve them separately. My concept is surviving with adversity.
This Disaster-Resilient Community Housing project embodies a forward-thinking approach to coastal areas vulnerable to natural disasters. It prioritizes safety through resilient homestead design and infrastructure, aimed at withstanding cyclone, storm surges, and flooding, while integrating proactive prevention and mitigation strategies. Sustainability is a cornerstone, employing eco-friendly materials and technologies to minimize environmental impact and enhance resilience. Community-centered design fosters inclusivity and social cohesion, with multi-functional facilities doubling as emergency shelters, thus strengthening community resilience. Adaptability and continuous improvement drive flexible housing and infrastructure solutions that evolve to meet changing needs and conditions. Ultimately, the project seeks not only to protect lives and property but also to cultivate resilient communities capable of thriving amidst environmental uncertainty.
"In light of escalating climate risks, the evolution of disaster-resilient community housing also integrates robust design principles for essential community facilities. Schools, healthcare centers, food banks, and shelters are strategically elevated to mitigate flood risks and are surrounded by an eight-foot-high road infrastructure that provides additional protection and access during emergencies.
These elevated community facilities are designed to fight extreme weather events such as floods, surges, and cyclones, incorporating flood-resistant materials. Accessible via raised roads, these facilities ensure continuous operation and accessibility for residents during crises, safeguarding vital services and support systems.
Crucially, these housing developments also prioritize livelihood diversity. They incorporate spaces for community gardens, small-scale agriculture, a PSF pond for drinking water facilities, training center etc. This not only enhances community self-sufficiency but also creates local economic opportunities. Additionally, flexible communal spaces can host micro-enterprises, workshops, and local markets, fostering a resilient local economy.
By integrating disaster resilience with livelihood possibilities, these communities not only mitigate risks but also empower residents to thrive in the face of adversity, fostering a model for sustainable development in a changing climate."

As a result of which I thought my thoughts on different levels. Since there are different types of problems here, I have tried to solve them separately. My concept is surviving with adversity. I have thought of 3 types of units in the master plan of my project and managed their resilience and livelihood or income generating in each unit. I have designed different trees as vegetation and green belt. After that, 4 types of clusters were put together in the units. Where they can generate income by farming fish. I gave them cluster wise vegetation and garden from where they can earn their income. We have provided a market to meet the daily needs.

I kept a pond next to each cluster. Where they can generate income by farming fish. I gave them cluster wise vegetation and garden from where they can earn their income. We have provided a market to meet the daily needs. We have provided a school for education and a training center to engage in creative work. We have provided a health care for their health protection. Besides, we have provided mosques and mosques.
