The project should, re-imagine and improve the site, considering environmental and social sustainability.
This project consists of multiple aspects designed wholly for the disabled (not adapted for use by) along the Felixstowe seafront, including disabled accommodation, rehabilitation facilities with a public cafe and a garden to tie the scheme into the existing public seafront gardens.
The Stager Sands project was designed from the start to consider the challenges faced by those with physical disabilities. Therefore, technically designed elements such as gradual slopes have been implemented. The project follows UK building regulations for disabled accessibility with automated doors and lifts being present; whilst also incorporating innovative accessibility elements.
