The idea of this project was to imitate the atmosphere of deep sea. The hotel lobby envelops guests in an otherworldly ambiance from the moment they step inside.
This project consists of the following four parts: the waiting zone, the reception, a bar and the entrance zone. In order to achieve the feeling of depth, there was used a palette consisting of intense blue and a contrasting warm gold and brown. Furniture pieces, with their organic, flowing shapes, create a welcoming atmosphere. The centre of the entrance hall has an art instalation that would mimic the effect of flowing water. Also the ceiling has also the effect of water and give the impression of waves. This accompanied by the lights furthermore reinforce the idea of abyss, which is the name of the hotel itself.
The ceiling is made out of an installation of metalic sheets with a water ripple effect. In the hall, the ceiling is complemented by a system of panels of irregular shapes that have on their sides led. The walls are covered with decorative panels that give a subtle interesting texture to them. The floor is tiled, except for the parts where there was created a compositional centre. There the floor is painted with a gradient texture and is made out of epoxy. Also the columns have a special configuration, being covered with some panels that give it a twisted geometry.
