Given that the location was in Tejgaon, Dhaka, a more industrial neighborhood with a bit of residential neighborhood. There weren't many areas around the property where residents could relax and socialize. A connecting area that allows people to congregate, sit together, converse, and foster connectivity between the residential and commercial zones was necessary. Since the project's goal was to construct office space for The Teletalk headquarters while taking all environmental factors into account, the design concept was to create a tall building that would blend in with the surrounding landscape, have two waterbodies that would serve as rainwater reservoirs while keeping the humid climate cool, and an excellent landscaping plan that would serve as a public realm and park-like area for the city. The design was oriented North-South in order to maximize the benefits of the climate. Additionally, the form was brought in with consideration for the flexibility of pedestrian circulation.
Our task was to create a Teletalk headquarters design. Since its founding in 2004, Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd. has been the sole government-run mobile provider in Bangladesh. There are currently 4.5 million subscribers to Teletalk. However, they lack a legitimate headquarters. Also, their offices are dispersed throughout the area. However, Teletalk has now made the decision to construct its own headquarters in order to improve its management, services, and commercial operations as well as to demonstrate their strong position in both the national and international arenas.
The center of this structure is where the majority of its weight is supported. Additionally, there is a second layer of beams that are positioned in a circle and are 10 meters away from the center. Every floor slab is twisted to form an area outside the circular office zone that resembles a green terrace, allowing employees to take breaks and avoid boredom.
