Idea projektu

In the design process, the various needs of the elderly have been taken into account. The facility should be attractive, safe and adapted to the climate. At the same time, the design should allow all the users to use not only the building, but also its entire site. The building for elderly should be universally solved, so every single resident can freely use the facility. When designing solutions, attention must be paid to the individual needs of a single user.

An aging population consists of people with vast life experience. It is often difficult for them to find their place in a rapidly developing world. Many of them decide to spend their golden years in a new place (for example in Portugal) and continue or start enjoying life.

The health problem affects many of people in elderly. Sometimes a medical condition does not allow to take full advantage of the remaining time. The building for the elderly should make it easier for each person to enjoy every single day.

Popis projektu

The idea behind the establishment is a small town. The facility is divided into different zones with varying degrees of privacy. The heart of the resort is the garden, which is the main meeting place for residents. Elderly people have different needs:
1. Some of them desire undisturbed calm and quiet space. Rooms enhanced in privacy with a view overlooking the landscape have been proposed for them.
2. However, many people need contact with other humans. They are likely to observe and interact with their neighbors - this is what they get the most pleasure from. The building with the view of the garden side have been designed to encourage this group to participate in activities.
3. Some of people are changeable depending on their mood. The flexible space have been designed for them which is a combination of previous two types of solutions.

Technické informace

The construction of the building is based on the traditions of Portuguese construction. White stone combined with red tiles create a Portuguese atmosphere. Wooden elements are visible mainly in the atrium and warm up the entire building.
