The main task was to create a space that could become as comfortable and functional as possible, as well as fulfilling its function as a social and developmental place for the younger generation and not only. Constructivism style was taken as a basis - it is simple geometric forms, the effect is achieved by forms and materials.
Our whole composition looks like a two-dimensional representation of the works of artists of that time, but like El Lissitzky and his Prouns, we translate flat figures into three-dimensional ones: three-dimensional constructions, dynamic structures that have no top and bottom. But using pure constructivism would become too strict for the younger generation, many would be rather uncomfortable and it would become too exercise space. So into this strictness of lines, colour and shapes we added a dash of pampering to dilute the whole situation. That's why we used different ornaments on textiles: from constructivism itself, to animals and cartoons. Also unusual in terms of functionality rooms in which everyone can find their place. To all this we added as a connecting link - soap bubbles. Once inside the building in a bubble entry, it's as if we are transported into this second world and that moment freezes until we walk back outside. They are also like childhood - they pass imperceptibly and give us moments of happiness and joy, a time when we can fantasise and not think about the heaviness and complexity of adult life. The fire escape is also designed in the same style.

The overall goal of the centre itself and its rooms' functions were aimed at the socialisation of the younger generation: children can come and relax after the school day, relax, do their hobbies with other peers or on the contrary get additional communication and get acquainted with new people.The main challenge was to fit the multi-functionality of the premises into its small area of 550m2. This task was fulfilled with the help of competent zoning, convenient for the work of the staff and guests staying inside. There were designed: an entrance area, a working room, non-standard and unusual rooms for leisure and socialising, also a kitchen area, as well as places for rest. In general, everything that those staying here could want will be accommodated here.
Thus, in the "Extended Day" will prevail orientation on the process of activity, interpersonal communication between young people, socially significant problems, hobbies.

Technické informace

The building itself is originally a two-storey brick building with a panoramic window on the internal staircase and a glazed balcony on the first floor. For wall cladding we will use a mix of several materials - porcelain stoneware, glass and brick. The Constructivism style was taken as a basis, thus materials were selected: available and not expensive. Available and inexpensive materials prevail: concrete, plaster, wood, glass. The building area is 550 m2. The building has a total of 3 floors. All rooms are aimed at social interaction between children. There is also a conservatory - winter garden. The 3rd floor is an open roof. The integration of disabled people includes overcoming social isolation. They need a place to meet, where they would be together doing something. So a ramp, wide doorways and corridors, and a bathroom are provided.
