Idea projektu

The basic intention of the project is to form a common flexible public space within the conflict zone known as the "green line". The goal of that public space and the reason for its formation in this zone is to reconcile the people of East and West Beirut.

Popis projektu

It would be in the form of vertical and horizontal communications that bridge the wide boulevards which strongly divide Beirut into two zones. By implementing of these public spaces reduces the strength of these wide streets and emphasizes the gathering places that would be formed above and next to them.

Technické informace

Public space would be flexible in the sense that the inhabitants would give it the main character by introducing elements of their culture and in that way it would become a picture of the society that lives in it. These public spaces are connected to the passenger terminal, cultural and memorial part and penetrate within the housing. The formation of these public areas significantly increases the percentage of green areas, which is very small in Beirut.
