Idea projektu

A phoenix is a mythical bird known for rising from its ashes. Accordingly to ancient legend, the phoenix is a bird that cyclically burns to death and is reborn from its own ashes. For this reason, the phoenix often serves as a symbol of renewal and rebirth. This is exactly Lebanon, which burns to the ashes in its crises and then lives again with a new spirit, with strength and steadfastness until it shines again. This is the main idea of the project to revive the phoenix represented in the port of Beirut, but with the preservation of some traces of ash. Because if it wasn't for the ashes, I wouldn't have created the phoenix again. The project aims at two main goals: The first is the historical importance of commemorating the martyrs of this horrific accident and perpetuating their memory and to prove the extent of the strength and steadfastness of the Lebanese people in the face of various crises since the civil war until the explosion of the port. The second is how to manage the port's annual material consumption, as well as increase its annual income through various recreational and tourism means, in order to help the economic problem that Lebanon is going through and develop the international economy.

Popis projektu

The curved lines were chosen in the project as they are hidden from the curved lines lines, where the lines of the building were merged with the lines of nature to give the visitor a sense of merging with them
The memorial: More attention was paid to the memorial part due to the importance of perpetuating his memory.
We were keen not to touch the tourist monument because it is evidence of an accident and martyrs in this place. And its treatment in translating texts.
The exhibition starts from where the exhibition begins, as the exhibition begins at the beginning of the civil war, which led to the explosion of the port of Beirut, through some pictures and various holograms under a covered structure for the convenience of visitors "from the direction of the undamaged building" until the visitor reaches the dilapidated part of the building from Phoenix bird and shows him how steadfast people are in the face of these events and then move forward with more force, and in front of him is a wall with the names of the martyrs. The accident in their memory.
On the Landmark there are a bunch of boats to see the nearby names as well as the Landmark
Hotels: In the hotels part, attention was paid to the comfort of the guest, and therefore the appropriate environmental studies were prepared for the city, from the correct orientation of the bedrooms in the building to thermal comfort and direct sunlight
The curvature of the building was also determined through a careful study of the wind movement, where the curve was made to parallel the movement of the prevailing winds to control the amount of air entering the space in summer and winter
To the self-shading of the openings, as it was studied to shade the openings, a relative shading that allows the entry of light and the direct rays of the sun not entering
The entertainment part: In the entertainment complex, care was taken to provide an integrated entertainment building that creates a different environment through which you will be transported when you enter another world filled with many entertainments.
The central block has been worked out to create an interactive plaza in the middle that helps orient people easily towards the various corridors, as well as making all parts of the entertainment building visible.
The interesting feature of these spaces is that they are flexible with the ever-changing and sometimes unpredictable crowds that they can accommodate.
The presence of cinemas, restaurants, cafes, entertainment facilities for children, and many other means that provide income to the port, where it can be accessed from the memorial and the passenger terminal, as well as the duty-free market.

Technické informace

Pay attention to the placement of trees and shrubs to help purify the air loaded with ship exhaust
Attention has been paid to rationalizing electricity consumption through:
• The work of a group of wind turbines to generate renewable energy that helps operate most of the devices inside the port
• The use of luminous concrete to illuminate the corridors as well as a decorative aesthetic element to create a different place situation in the exhibition part to attract visitors
• Sockets have been placed in the seats connected to a set of solar panels to supply electricity to help visitors charge phones.
