Idea projektu

Adaptaiton is an important part of restoration for historic buildings because it includes the buildings in modern life and helps to maintain them further. The main goal of this project is to find a right adaptation for given building, the adaptaiton that will be competable with building's capacities and will be suitable for the current city context.
The object of adaptation is a historical stone building located on Bakunin Street, 14. It is included in an estate, that historically included two neighboring buildings numbered 14/1 and 14a. Presumably, this building was originally used as a retail store with utility rooms. The building has an entrance from the main street on the main facade which can be restored and used nowadays. At the moment it has the status of an Identified cultural Heritage Object.
New function was chosen, firstly, according to the building's capacities such as given free space, needed historical layout in plan, loads and processes the building can handle, and secondly, according to current needs of the city. The area in the project is the first street of the city that has a potential of a tourist's attraction and an inspiration for all artists in the city as a whole but does not have any places to have a rest during walks, thus the idea was to keep the historic exterior and to create a modern interior to connect the starting and current points in life of the building.
The goal was to create a cosy artsy atmosphere for everyone and for artists especially, to create a place where everyone can have a quality rest, take a look at how much inspiration the city can give to everyone, and see through the eyes of artists how beautiful it is.
The interior was created for the coffeeshop dining room because this room fully shows the idea of the adaptation.
