three quarters on the heap


The project is dedicated to the revival of the Hrabůvka heap in Ostrava.

current situation
The Hrabůvka heap is currently cut off from the surrounding urban structure by Místecká Street, an important traffic structure that acts as a feeder to the centre of Ostrava for areas to the south of the city.

Connection to the city
To enable the activation of the entire area, the concept proposes to connect the heap area to important urban infrastructure. The connection occurs at two key points on the western and northern edges.

the ring around the entire heap
From the connection points to the urban transport infrastructure, the project further creates a ring that circles the entire heap along their ridges. The result is a so-called ting, which allows easy access to all areas of the heap

pedestrian connectivity and permeability
In addition to the ring road, the project also creates important pedestrian connection points. It proposes a trio of bridges across the street at strategic points, and on the opposite side it creates a bridge over the Ostravice River to connect the area to the other side of the river.

platforms
The project works significantly with the original topography of the terrain, which is the result of the piling up of waste over more than 100 years.
The development areas for the new construction are created on a trio of platforms that were created on the highest points of the heap.

linking to the green belt
The fourth and final platform on the heap, located in the north-eastern part of the site, acts as a connection point to the green belt that winds around the Ostravice River.
The flat surface of the platform is used for leisure purposes (sports fields, paths, playgrounds, park).

central park
A trio of raised platforms designed to create new neighbourhoods between them defines a calmed central area with an existing lake.
Thanks to the traffic service along the crest of the heap, the centre is left and allows the creation of park-like green spaces with leisure attractions that can exploit the potential of the vast water surface of the lake.

artefact of the site
The only surviving building within the heap lies at the northern end of the site. It is a historic industrial building.
The proposal works with the possible use of the building for the creation of the Centre for the Restoration of the Post-Industrial Landscape of Ostrava. The site would become an educational institution of supra-regional importance, reminding visitors of the history and future of the mining landscape.

Projekt se věnuje oživení haldy Hrabůvka v Ostravě.

současná situace
Halda Hrabůvka je v dnešní době odříznuta od okolní městské struktury ulicí Místeckou - významnou dopravní stavbou, která funguje jako přivadeč do centra Ostravy pro oblasti na jih od města.

napojení na město
Pro umožnění aktivizace celého území koncept navrhuje napojit plochu haldy na důležitou městskou infrastrukturu. K napojení dochází ve dvou klíčových bodech na západní a severní hraně.

ring kolem celé haldy
Z bodů napojení na městskou dopravní infrastrukturu dále projekt vytváří okruh, který objíždí celou haldu po jejich hřebenech. Výsledkem je tzv. ting, který umožňuje jednoduchý přístup do všech ploch haldy

pěší napojení a prostupnost
Projekt k silniční okružní cestě vytváří také důležitá místa napojení pro pěší. Ve strategických bodech navrhuje přes ulici místeckou trojici mostů, na opačné straně vytváří přemostnění řeky Ostravice a napojuje tak území na druhý břeh řeky.

platformy
Projekt významně pracuje s původní topografií terénu, který je výsledkem navážení odpadu během více než 100 let.
Rozvojové plochy pro novou výstavbu jsou vytvořeny na trojici platform, které vznikly na nejvýše položených místech haldy.

navázání na zelený pás
Čtvrtá, poslední plošina na haldě, která se nachází v severovýchodní části území, funguje jako místo napojení na pás zeleně, který se vine okolo řeky Ostravice.
Rovná plocha platformy je využita pro účely volného času (sportoviště, stezky, hřiště, park).

centrální park
Trojice vyvýšených platform určených pro vznik nových čtvrtí mezi sebou definuje zklidněnou centrální plochu s již existujícím jezerem.
Díky dopravní obsluze po hřebeni haldy je střed ponechán a umožňuje vznik parkové zeleně s volnočasovými atrakcemi, které mohou využít potenciál rozlehlé vodní plochy jezera.

artefakt místa
Jediná zachovalá budova na území haldy leží v severním cípu území. Jedná se o historickou industriální budovu.
Návrh pracuje s možným využitím budovy pro vznik Centra pro obnovu postindustriální krajiny Ostravska. Z místa by se stala vzdělávací instituce nadregionálního významu, která návštěvníkům připomněla historii a budoucnost těžební krajiny.
