Technické informace

- I perceived the site to be a cultural desert inside the Lubiri. the war torn area recreates the feeling of death to the people of Uganda thus disconnecting themselves including the current king of Buganda
- Kabaka Edward Muteesa II, the 1st president of Uganda was overthrown by Milton Obote and Idi Amin thus leading to the battle and lost glory of the kingdom.
- The project is created above Idi Amins torture chambers as a symbol for a new beginning for Buganda's heritage being preserved
- The process of growth of the design involves manipulation of Buganda's architecture over time and how the design respects the different collection of artifacts around it scattered within the royal enclosure
- The design of the content shaping the container is intended to act as a monument and symbolize Uganda's commitment to values such as democracy and enhance historical preservation. The steel structure acing as a blanket houses the museum thus allowing the users of the space to relate to the museum and the outside environment in which the artifact relates to. the upper dome houses the library thus acting a sound barrier to the near by traffic and light thus creating a comfortable internal experience.
