Idea projektu

The project's goal was to turn the surroundings of Lake Autobahn see into the point of interest, consisting of a bridge over the lake, the hotel, aquapark and restaurant. The project could also work with the idea of filling up a part of the lake. The location of this area is also important because it is located near the motorway junction, the city of Salzburg and the adjoining airport

Popis projektu

The concept of aquapark is based on the fact that the physicist who described the waveforms, Christian Doppler, was a native of Salzburg. The theme of the waves, of water represented by the lake Autobahn see, or waves of sound represented the motorway or the airport, everywhere around this site. The ground plan of the building was created as a cutout of one of three wavefronts . These wavefronts are placed there in order to create three volumes such as bridge, restaurant and aquapark. Connection of wavefronts creates a volume of hotel. Colored strips on facade of aquapark are abstracted waveform curve. The mass of the aquapark opens itself in the direction of hotel, indicating the cooperation of these buildings. The building of aquapark consists of five parts such as wellness part at the first floor, with separate entrance. The second part is swimming pool with own canteen located on the second floor. Third part of the building is fitness house on the second floor. Fourth part of aquapark is technical spaces located on the underground floor and the last is administration space on the first floor.

Technické informace

Glass facades oriented to the southwest and southeast allow the installation of photovoltaic cells as facade elements. The gained energy then drives pool pumps, air conditioning and a heat pump system that operates on the water-water principle. Heating is done in the form of thermally activated structures that accumulate heat and then distribute it to the interior.
The drainage of the roof drains the rain water into collecting tanks under the surface, and this water is subsequently used to irrigate the public greenery in the area.
