The project is situated in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Plovdiv is chosen to be European Capital of Culture for 2019 year, but the city is also known for its natural hills and their stories. Considering the importance of the hills and how the architecture of the city emerges around them through the different historical periods we can speak about a certain kind of organization (even through chaos) caused by the natural resources.Located at the south bank of the river, the Children's Theater Center acts as а punctual building as it navigates from the city center to the north across the river. The creation of the Children's Center uses a similar organization as the concentrated, targeted architecture designating the hills in the city. By its origin this building is structured as a hill and volumes lured by it. The difference between the two types of "hill" is the cause that gives birth to the whole organization, as well as the expressive means and elements that construct it.
With built up area of 3000sq.m. the center is divided into several zones, the first being entirely devoted to the theatrical experience. the second zone houses children's workshops and clubs where children can explore the various arts and have fun. This time combines nature with the many green terraces through which culture passes, with an abundance of exciting and enriching activities and performances.
